Abstract
Aux États-Unis, au Royaume-Uni et au Canada, les médias ont souvent éludé les problèmes éthiques, une situation en partie créée par la convergence des médias. Historiquement, cette convergence a été la conséquence d’un environnement financier plus incertain dans l’ensemble des médias, les forçant ainsi à se concentrer sur les questions financières et commerciales de la culture journalistique. La conscience déontologique a diminué en conséquence. Pourtant, il n’existe pas de retour à une ère plus idyllique (si jamais elle a existé). Le défi pour les journalistes, les directeurs de médias et le public en attente d’informations plus fiables, c’est de restaurer la crédibilité des médias, de produire un travail journalistique de qualité et de retrouver la confiance du public.
