Abstract
This thick tome of essays, edited by two outstanding international lawyers from Canada, addresses a question of great importance—the shaping of the international legal order at this stage of the development of the United Nations system—to which cause they consider essential the continuous contribution of international lawyers of this world. Further, the editors of the collection also bear in mind the view in certain influential circles in the United States that international law is not binding, besides the equally dismissive attitude of the United States towards international institutions. This collection ultimately seeks to promote the rule of law and human dignity in the world.
