Depuis le début des années 2000, on observe une véritable transformation des villes métropoles turques en termes d’urbanisation. Les gecekondus disparaissent, de grandes communautés de logement émergent, les frontières urbaines s’élargissent à l’infini. Dans ce contexte, des quartiers entiers disparaissent avec leur population d’origine pour laquelle le centre-ville devient banni et les logements trop chers. Cette injustice socio-spatiale n’engendre pas toujours une contestation visible au sein de la société et l’opinion publique ne semble pas se préoccuper toujours du coût humain de ces politiques d’urbanisation réalisées sous un régime néolibéral et un fonctionnement autoritaire. Cependant, il arrive parfois qu’une résistance émerge et persiste même si elle ne paraît pas au départ visible. L’ambition de cet article est d’étudier, sous l’angle de la politisation et de ses dimensions spatiales, un de ces multiples exemples de résistance qui émergent un peu partout en Turquie. Que peut-on dire de la genèse de cette politisation ? Par quels outils et mécanismes les habitants se mobilisent et se politisent-ils ? Il présentera, enfin, les acteurs de la politisation et les différentes stratégies de résistance à la fois individuelles et collectives qu’ils mettent en œuvre.
