Abstract

En s’appuyant sur le cadre théorique de l’économie politique des langues et sur la notion d’investissement langagier, proposée par Norton dans les années 1990 et récemment rediscutée et amendée par Duchêne en 2016, il est possible de considérer autrement et de mieux comprendre l’enseignement-apprentissage du français en Chine au niveau universitaire ainsi que son fort développement depuis 1999. Poser la question des enjeux autour du français et de ce qui fait valeur nous amène à avoir une compréhension plus riche de la situation que ce que permettrait une centration uniquement sur la motivation des apprenants ou en suivant une vision francophoniste (consistant à ne prendre en compte que la langue française dans l’analyse).
