Tingginya tingkat pengangguran merupakan indikator yang menjadi salah satu permasalahan pembangunan di wilayah provinsi Banten. Berbeda dengan kondisi nasional, pengangguran di wilayah perdesaan di provinsi Banten relatif selalu lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan wilayah perkotaan. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan pengangguran di wilayah desa provinsi Banten sebagai salah satu ukuran efektivitas pembangunan desa yang selama ini dilakukan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif berdasarkan analisis komparasi data pengangguran di wilayah perdesaan dan perkotaan di provinsi Banten sebelum dan sesudah diundangkannya Undang-Undang nomor 6 tahun 2014 tentang Desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan trend penurunan pengangguran di wilayah perdesaan provinsi Banten periode 2010-2014 lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan periode 2015-2019. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa implementasi pembangunan desa pasca UU 6/2014 belum mampu menciptakan akselerasi pengentasan pengangguran di wilayah perdesaan. Belum optimalnya pembangunan desa dalam hal pengurangan pengangguran, disebabkan kurangnya keberpihakan penganggaran di Bidang pembinaan kemasyarakatan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Penganggaran pembangunan desa yang selama ini dilakukan lebih terkonsentrasi pada Bidang Pelaksanaan pembangunan desa dan Penyelenggaraan Pemerintah Desa.
