Abstract
O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar aos leitores a ferramenta estatística multivariada e a análise de cluster com aplicação para as Ciências Sociais Aplicadas. Este trabalho se justifica porque a estatística é uma ciência que fornece subsídios para tomada de decisões. a metodologia utilizada para este trabalho foi uma pesquisa bibliográfica. Para se alcançar o objetivo proposto, foi necessário dividir este trabalho em outras três seções, sendo a segunda seção sobre a análise multivariada, a terceira sobre a análise de cluster e a quarta uma conclusão do trabalho. De forma geral foram abordados dentro revisão teórica multivariada conceitos e finalidades; limitações da análise multivariada; técnicas de dependência e interdependência; além de dados missing e outliers. Na seção sobre análise de cluster, foi abordado, objetivos, hipóteses e premissas; necessidade ou não da padronização dos dados; modelo hierárquico e não hierárquico; critérios de decisão do número de cluster; e exemplos práticos da análise de cluster.
