Abstract: Este trabalho analisa a apresentação de Yann LeCun na conferência "AI, Science and Society" (2025), focando em sua crítica aos modelos de linguagem de grande escala (LLMs) e sua defesa de arquiteturas alternativas para alcançar uma inteligência artificial de nível humano. LeCun argumenta que os LLMs, apesar de seus avanços, carecem de modelos internos do mundo e de capacidades de planejamento hierárquico, características essenciais para a inteligência humana e animal. Ele propõe uma mudança de paradigma em direção a Joint Embedding Predictive Architectures (JEPAs) e modelos baseados em energia (EBMs). As JEPAs aprendem a prever representações abstratas do estado futuro do mundo, em vez de detalhes sensoriais brutos, e os EBMs oferecem uma estrutura matemática mais robusta para capturar as dependências complexas inerentes ao mundo real.
