Abstract
Este trabajo incorpora la dimensión temporal a la medición de pobreza, utilizando la metodología LIMTIP (Levy Institute’s Innovative Measure of Time and Income Poverty) sobre datos de la Encuesta de Trabajo no Remunerado y Uso del Tiempo relevada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INDEC) en el año 2013. Esta innovación permite identificar tanto a los individuos con ingresos insuficientes para alcanzar un nivel de bienestar considerado mínimo, como también a aquellos con extensas jornadas de trabajo en el mercado y/o con una importante carga de trabajo doméstico que condiciona su bienestar. Se trata de una metodología que pretende generar resultados útiles para la orientación de cursos de acción que armonicen la actividad mercantil, la estructura demográfica de los hogares y las políticas sociales con una perspectiva de género. Entre los hallazgos más relevantes se puede mencionar que la pobreza LIMTIP incide entre los hombres y las mujeres a niveles muy similares. Además, el sexo del jefe de hogar no constituye un determinante de la pobreza LIMTIP. Por lo tanto, la evidencia sugiere que la pobreza que afecta a mujeres o a hogares comandados por ellas tiene fuentes diferentes más allá de su condición de mujer.
