Jusqu’à présent, en didactique des langues, le « rapport à » a principalement été étudié à travers l’écrit. Documentée dans des écrits scientifiques principalement francophones, la notion de « rapport à l’écrit », sa modélisation et ses dimensions constitutives ont été déterminées de façon théorique, et n'ont pas, à notre connaissance, été mises à l'épreuve à l’aide d'études psychométriques pour valider le construit et sa dimensionnalité. Une telle clarification contribuerait à préciser les référents et à stabiliser le statut de cette notion. Concernant l'oral, il n’existe que très peu de travaux sur la question du « rapport à ». Cette contribution sera l’occasion de présenter la méthodologie de recherche utilisée pour développer une modélisation et une échelle psychométrique du « rapport à l’oral », baptisée ÉRO (Échelle du Rapport à l’Oral, Colognesi et al., 2023). Il s’agit d’un projet d’envergure qui rassemble des expertises et des investigations provenant de Belgique, de France, du Québec, des Pays-Bas et de la Suisse romande. Ainsi, les grandes étapes du processus seront d’abord décrites, puis les résultats des analyses exploratoires et confirmatoires qui ont été menées auprès de plus de 1000 (futurs) personnes enseignantes de la Belgique francophone. Les dimensions du rapport à l’oral, telles que dégagées à l’issue de ces analyses, seront ainsi présentées. Nous terminerons en annonçant nos perspectives de travail, impliquant les différents pays.
