Depuis le début de la pandémie les écoles et associations de danse ont dû composer avec les mesures sanitaires et ainsi limiter, voire arrêter leurs activités en présence. C’est ainsi que sont rapidement apparus des cours de danse en ligne. Alors que la formation aux danses de loisirs à distance était rare avant la pandémie, nous nous sommes demandé comment les professeurs de danse étaient passés de la présence à la distance. Autrement dit, nous avons cherché à voir quels changements technopédagogiques avaient dû être mis en œuvre pour poursuivre leur activité. Les propos recueillis dans le cadre d’entretiens avec des professeurs vivant en France et au Québec font ressortir que, parmi ceux qui ont fait le choix d’enseigner à distance, certains ont proposé des cours, et parfois même des festivals, synchrones tandis que d’autres ont privilégié les enseignements asynchrones. Parmi les principaux défis que les professeurs ont eu à relever, il est possible d’en faire ressortir quatre : les contraintes techniques, le fait de devoir enseigner des danses de couple ou de groupe à des personnes seules, la conversion de l’espace domestique en lieu de danse et les limites de l’interaction et de la rétroaction à distance.
