Résumé
The purpose of this thesis is to propose the way for the globalization of Korean (modern) novel, which is suitable to the multicultural and hybridity society. First, in the anthology of Korean literature for the university student in USA or Canada, the Korean novels are listed winch are focused on the Canon, and those works don't accomodate the current changes in Korean literature and novel, because most anthologies were published before 2000. Second, the translation of Korean novels is going on the current novelists and full-length novels. The women writer's works are given a great deal of weight on the anthology and translation. This characteristics reflects the interests about post-colonialism and feminism in Western society. This thesis proposes the dualistic strategy for the globalization of Korean novel. One is the publication of anthology, winch includes the diverse works and writers as many as we could. The other is the publication of pocket book for the ordinary readers. And the development of creative contents which are based on the internet or movie, television drama, etc is needed. For the efficient management of policy, we must make the best use of the existing multimedia materials written in Korean. Most of all, 'Occidentalism' or westernized globalization of literature is needed to be overcome. Specially, the exchange with 'non-western' country's literature， not the exclusion but the open-minded view toward 'the Other', the de-centering attitudes can be mature ways for this multicultural society.
