Globalization process encounters with a high degree of anxiety in countries where states put pressure upon their citizens’ civil and economic rights and freedoms. Preference falsification is seen as a distinctive characteristic of these countries and government intervention is widespread almost in all realms. Nonetheless, globalization process has led the voices for freedom to rise and people started to act more openly. Particularly, disclosure of opinion without falsification as an important consequence of globalization seems to have started to bother oppressive governments. Degree of preference falsification differs among various models.. The Anglo-Saxon Model, which rules in Western countries, envisions a minimal falsification of social and individual preferences. On the contrary, the Command Model, also known as Asian Model or Crony Model, dictates a much more common and deeper preference falsification. This model operates especially within Latin American, Far-Eastern and Middle-Eastern countries. Lastly, preference falsification is the most common among socialist or fascist countries. Former Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy might be counted among this type. The present countries can be classified into two main categories: On the one hand, there are libertarian countries like USA, UK and Canada; and on the other hand, countries like Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand where people are put under a certain degree of pressure. It would not be a mistake to attribute welfare levels of libertarian countries to their own capital holders and laboring classes. Just in the opposite, the welfare levels of other countries can be ascribed not to their capital holders and laboring classes but their governments. It seems there is a high negative correlation between economic prosperity and the level of pressure imposed upon the citizens for people in libertarian countries have the highest economic prosperity while people in the oppressed countries have the lowest. Globalization seems to bring private preferences close to public preferences at both individual and institutional levels. In this way, both social efficiency and total benefits increase. In short, globalization seems to promise a condition where efficient allocation of social resources increases in parallel with a decrease in preference falsification.
