A study recently suggested that the extent of HCV-lipoprotein co-migration may correlate with the severity of liver disease (2). Whether a similar correlation exists in terms of response to antiviral therapy remains to be determined. We prospectively documented measures of lipid metabolism (cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein, LDL, apolipoprotein A-I, and apolipoprotein B) in 7 chronic HCV carriers with liver enzyme levels that normalized and HCV RNA that cleared from the circulation for at least 6 months after ...References1.
