Dehn fillings of knot manifolds containing essential once-punctured tori
Notice bibliographique
Résumé
In this paper we study exceptional Dehn fillings on hyperbolic knot manifolds which contain an essential once-punctured torus. Let <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> M M </inline-formula> be such a knot manifold and let <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> β \beta </inline-formula> be the boundary slope of such an essential once-punctured torus. We prove that if Dehn filling <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> M M </inline-formula> with slope <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> α \alpha </inline-formula> produces a Seifert fibred manifold, then <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> Δ ( α , β ) ≤ 5 \Delta (\alpha ,\beta )\leq 5 </inline-formula> . Furthermore we classify the triples <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> ( M ; α , β ) (M; \alpha ,\beta ) </inline-formula> when <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> Δ ( α , β ) ≥ 4 \Delta (\alpha ,\beta )\geq 4 </inline-formula> .
