Efalizumab recognizes the α-subunit of leukocyte function-associated antigen type 1, thereby blocking interaction between the antigen and intercellular adhesion molecules and associated signaling and T-cell migration (1). The agent is licensed for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (2).Objective: To describe the frequency, clinical features, and response to treatment of putative immune-mediated thrombocytopenia during efalizumab treatment.Methods: During the efalizumab clinical development program, 2762 patients were treated with the drug.
