March 01 2014 The Charles Lemaire Expedition Revisited: Sammy Baloji as a Portraitist of Present Humans in Congo Far West Sammy Baloji, Sammy Baloji Sammy Baloji studied at the University of Lubumbashi and the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. He now works as a photographer and video artist in Brussels and Lubumbashi, DRC. His work has been exhibited in the DRC, Mozambique, Morocco, Mali, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, the United States, Canada, Japan, and elsewhere.
