With this production, kelly sets out to the story of [newfoundland and labrador] from the point of view of loggers themselves (p. 5). to this end, she adopts Fowke's approach, concentrating on material that takes as its subject the work of logging, lumbering, and personal woodcutting for family fuel (p. 6).
