However, in our case series, there were no reports of HDV infection in either the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database or the literature that we reviewed. A limitation of the database is that data may be missing, so we do not know whether results of serologic testing for HDV infection were negative or whether testing was not done.
