President's Message Message du présidenthis December issue gives us an opportunity to review the many accomplishments of the Canadian Acoustical Association that took place over the past 12 months and which you will see highlighted on page 55 in the report from the AGM prepared by our Executive Secretary, Dr. Roberto Racca.It is also time to say a special thanks to the conference organizing team of the Acoustics Week in Canada that took place in Guelph (ON) from October 11 to 13, 2017.Thanks to the enthusiasm and professionalism of Peter VanDelden (RWDI), its convenor and Christian Giguère (U.Ottawa), its technical chair, this conference was a great success with regards to the number of participants, the number of exhibitors, the quality of the presentations and keynote lectures and even with regards to the number of people present at our Annual General Assembly!It was in fact during this general assembly that all existing members of the Board of directors were re-elected by acclamation.The roles were nonetheless reassigned making me the new president of the Canadian Acoustical Association and successor to Professor Frank Russo (Ryerson), who occupied the position brilliantly over the last 4 years and to whom I give special thanks.He is thus former president, replacing Professor Christian Giguère (U.Ottawa) whom I would like to sincerely thank for his huge involvement within our organization and for his professional rigor and sound advice.Let me take this opportunity to briefly present my intentions for this new presidency.I aim, with the support of our dedicated webmaster, Philipp Tsui (Wakefield Acoustics), to streamline our website, include more dynamic content and make it compatible with the mobile browsers that we so often use.I also aim, with the help of the Editorial board composed of Editor-in Chief, Professor Umberto Berardi (Ryerson), the publication manager, Dr. Cécile Le Cocq (ÉTS) and our new copyeditor, Dr. Olivier Valentin (ÉTS), to perform a major
