Résumé

récupéré en direct d'OpenAlex

From the Stone Age to modern industry, the development of mechanical systems has driven human civilization and the progress of science and technology. Inferior dynamic performances related to manufacturing precision, mobility, comfort, reliability, and safety have become the bottlenecks restricting the development of contemporary industrial products, which can be regarded as complex and integrated mechatronical systems composed of many subsystems with highly coupled dynamical behaviors. With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution and the widely used complicated and integrated products, it has been found clearly that quasi-static or local dynamics study can no longer capture the critical features of contemporary mechanical systems. One common reason for these bottlenecks is a lack of effective dynamics theories, methods, and technical approaches from a whole system point of view. By the accurate modeling, fast computation, design and optimization, simulation and test on dynamics of complex equipment, mechanical system dynamics has enhanced the ability to safely and efficiently manufacture high-performance equipment and has played an irreplaceable and significant role. It is also one of the pillars of modern science, technology, and industries such as modern machinery, aeronautics, astronautics, ships, vehicles, trains, and robots. Countries around the world have paid wide attention to it. According to the Web of Science, the number of papers published annually in various journals on mechanical system dynamics has been continuously rising for the past 20 years, with more than 25 000 papers published in 2019. Because of the rapidly growing research concerning "mechanical system dynamics" in the last two decades, the related topics are distributed in many different journals. However, there is no one specialized journal focusing on "mechanical system dynamics." The bottlenecks in the development of modern industry and equipment urgently need the guidance of science and technology of mechanical system dynamics. Thus, we need a specialized journal to guide the rapid development, application and communication of mechanical system dynamics. This was the reason to make a joint decision to launch the International Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics (IJMSD). In total, 35 scientists coming from 11 countries constitute the Editorial Board of our Journal, including 14 members of the National Academy of Science or National Academy of Engineering of eight countries, 13 Editors-in-Chief of other international peer-reviewed journals, and 13 presidents of international academic societies. We also plan to continuously invite scientists and engineers from all over the world to join the editorial board in the future. The launching ceremony for IJMSD was successfully held in Nanjing on July 10, 2021. The event brought together more than 200 famous scientists and experts in the world, including 30 members of the National Academy of Science or National Academy of Engineering, 6 presidents of international academic societies, 24 chief designers/experts of the latest major equipment in China, 20 major industry chairmen and general managers in China, 21 presidents of universities and directors of research institutes in China, 42 well-known experts in aeronautics, astronautics, marine engineering, transportation engineering, and information engineering, Wiley Publishing Group, and leaders from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the government of Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City, China. Prof. Xiaoting Rui (the Editor-in-Chief of IJMSD) and Dr. Guangchen Xu (the Director of Physical Sciences—China of John Wiley & Sons, Inc.) delivered speeches, respectively. Profs. Peter Eberhard (the Co-Editor-in-Chief), Pierangelo Masarati (the Associate Editor), Xuping Zhang (the Executive Editor), Ahmed Shabana and Osman Tokhi (Editorial Board Members of IJMSD) gave speeches remotely and sent their best wishes to the journal's launching, respectively. Profs. Zhaoping Lyu (the vice president of CAST, Mengyin Fu (the President of Nanjing University of Science and Technology), Dr. Guangchen Xu, Profs. Xiaoting Rui, Daining Fang, Wanlin Guo, and Tianshou Zhao (members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, representatives of IJMSD editorial board members) came on stage to co-inaugurate the journal. IJMSD was selected as one of the "high start-point journals" in China's STM11 STM stands for Science Technology and Medicine. Journal Excellence Action Plan on 26th September 2021. The selected journals within this plan are all considered highly influential in their respective fields. These demonstrate the good start of the journal with great attention paid by experts and colleagues, and show the journal has a potential to become a high-standard journal. IJMSD is an open-access journal that aims to systematically reveal the vital effect of mechanical system dynamics on the whole lifetime of modern industrial equipment. Especially, it focuses on the science and technology about laws of motion and interaction of objects concerned in the simulation design, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, and application of various complex equipment. It also involves multidisciplines such as machinery, physics, mechanics, mathematics, chemistry, material, control, and includes multifields such as force, electricity, light, magnetism, heat, sound, flow, and gas. The journal will provide the most advanced theories and technologies to enhance the research and design capabilities of modern industry and equipment performance and the journal will be built as an important international academic exchange platform for the mechanical system dynamics community. Ultimately, we thank all readers, authors, reviewers, editorial board members, editorial office staffs, the Wiley publishing, and Nanjing University of Science and Technology who contributed to the opening issues of the journal. With the joint efforts of world-class scientists in the editorial board, world-class author base and manuscript sources, and a world-class publishing team, we believe that IJMSD will strive to publish peer-reviewed papers of the highest level, representing state-of-the-art works in both scientific and practical engineering fields.
