Maria Rita D'Aviera is an independent scholar. She graduated in 2017 in Eastern and Western Cultures, focusing on North American culture. Her attention was first devoted to the Native American inquiry on James Welch's last novel. In 2020, she obtained a master's degree on Italian American literature, particularly Luigi Donato Ventura's works. She is now working on the very beginning of the Italian American literary production.Dennis Barone is the author of Beyond Memory: Italian Protestants in Italy and America, Second Thoughts and A Field Guide to the Rehearsal. He currently lives in Toronto, Canada.Featured Poet Kiki Petrosino is the author of White Blood: A Lyric of Virginia (2020) and three other poetry books, all from Sarabande. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop. Her memoir, Bright, was released from Sarabande in 2022. She directs the Creative Writing Program at the University of Virginia, where she is a Professor of Poetry. Petrosino is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, a Fellowship in Creative Writing from the National Endowment for the Arts, the UNT Rilke Prize, and the Spalding Prize, among other honors.After earning an MFA from Vermont College, Jill Barrie won first place in The Louisville Review poetry contest. She was also a finalist for the Alice Fay di Castagnola Award and the Neruda Prize. Her work has appeared in New Virginia Review, North American Review, and other publications. Her paternal grandparents arrived in the U.S. from Pesaro and Urbino, Le Marche, Italy.Stephen Campiglio directed the Mishi-maya-gat Spoken Word & Music Series for 12 years at Manchester Community College in Connecticut. He recently co-edited Noh Place Poetry Anthology and is translating, with Elena Borelli, Giovanni Pascoli's volume of poetry, Canti di Castelvecchio. Twice-nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Campiglio has published two chapbooks, Cross-Fluence and Verbal Clouds through Various Magritte Skies.Matt Cariello's two books of poems, A Boat That Can Carry Two (2011) and Talk (2019), were published by Bordighera Press. He's had stories, poems, and reviews published in VIA, Poet Lore, OVUNQUE SIAMO, Modern Haiku, The Long Story, Indiana Review, The Ekphrastic Review, Modern Poetry Quarterly Review, and Typehouse. He's currently a lecturer in the English department at The Ohio State University in Columbus.Simona Carini was born in Perugia, Italy, and moved to California as an adult. She writes poetry and nonfiction and has been published in various venues. Her first poetry collection, Survival Time, was published in 2022 by Sheila-Na-Gig Editions. She lives in Northern California with her husband, loves to spend time outdoors, and works as an academic researcher. She's co-edited two anthologies: Wild Dreams and Our Roots Are Deep with Passion.Elaine LaMattina is the managing director of the highly respected literary publishing company White Pine Press in Buffalo, New York. She lives on the shores of Lake Erie in western New York. Her grandfather, Nicola Taddio, emigrated to the U.S. from Campobasso, Italy, at the age of 14 and later married Ludovica Serrone, whose father had immigrated from near Rome.Carla Panciera's collection of short stories, Bewildered, received AWP's 2013 Grace Paley Short Fiction Award. She has also published two collections of poetry: One of the Cimalores (Cider Press) and No Day, No Dusk, No Love (Bordighera). Panciera received a 2022 Massachusetts Cultural Council grant in prose, and her second collection of short stories, Barnflower, will be published by Loom Press in 2023.Michelle Reale is the author of several poetry collections, including Season of Subtraction (Bordighera Press, 2019), Blood Memory (Idea Press, 2021), and Confini: Poems of Refugees in Sicily (Cervena Barva Press, 2022). She is the founding and manager editor for OVUNQUE SIAMO: New Italian-American Writing and The Red Fern Review.Clare Rossini's poems and essays have appeared widely and are collected in three books and numerous anthologies, including Best American Poetry 2020. She co-edited The Poetry of Capital, published by the University of Wisconsin Press in 2020. Clare is Artist-in-Residence at Trinity College in Hartford, where she teaches creative writing and oversees a program that places students in Hartford public school arts classrooms.
