From the need to understand the relationships between contemporary city production practices based on neoliberal rationality (DARDOT; LAVAL, 2016), the reconfiguration of popular territories, and the protagonism of the populations that inhabit them within the scope of urban conflicts, this work explores the understanding of the conformation of political subjects in struggle in the context of the processes of reconfiguration in the São Paulo metropolitan region (RMSP), considering the political potency of the dissensual dimensions surrounding the appropriation and dispossession of urban living spaces, their sociabilities, inequalities, and precarities, focusing on trajectories and narratives that allow establishing relationships between living conditions, social action, and territory in the RMSP.Through the social movement of the struggle for housing, Ocupação Promessa (fictitious name), this study aims to critically grasp the production of contemporary urban space, recontextualizing new grammars of segregation, as well as conflicts and resistances, articulated to mechanisms of political subjectivation.This general objective is articulated with the construction of trajectories through ethnographic incursions, attempting to understand how social and individual destinies (CABANES, 2006) have intertwined and what their turning points are; which moments and processes of territorial fixation, expulsion, and removal have marked these trajectories and obstacles, and what horizons of emancipation and dissent have emerged within the social struggles in the production and reproduction of the urban (DARDOT; LAVAL, 2016).There is also a need to identify trajectories and processes of formation and transformation of the movements of social struggles and organizations that, although reconfigured, are part of a group of references that guide current popular actors and assist in the construction of this political subject.Therefore, the study sought to analyze and qualify the mechanisms of political subjectivation of popular struggle movements, as well as to understand the direct and indirect influences of public policies on the political practice of social struggles for housing, as well as in the production of contested urban space, discussing the processes of struggle for the constitution of rights in the city.To do so, the study was methodologically divided into two main parts: the first, weaving the lines of force that structure the practices related to the context discussed until then, and the second, conducting ethnographic incursions to support the studies established in the previous stage through the analysis of life trajectories and biographical paths, understanding that "these incursions can present themselves as the guiding thread of a socio-spatial tangle woven daily in cities, providing important clues to the ways in which spaces, trajectories, narratives, and experiences constitute themselves mutually and dynamically."(ROSA, 2014).
