He holds a B.A. in Geography from McGill University, a B.Sc. in Architecture from Université de Montréal and a Master of Architecture from Carleton University. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in the History, Theory and Criticism of Art and Architecture program at MIT, where his research focuses on the relationship between architecture, cultural identities, colonialism and resource extraction. Samuel's work has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, and the MIT Presidential Fellowship.
