Résumé
The upcoming 78th Annual Meeting of the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) promises deep learning alongside extraordinary collegiality. Meeting content will highlight research and innovation in the care of children with cerebral palsy and childhood onset disabilities. All of this will happen in the magical splendor of Quebec City, the only walled city in North America. The Annual Meeting Planning Team of Laurie Glader MD, Sruthi Thomas MD PhD, and Vedant Kulkarni MD can't wait to welcome you. AACPDM members come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and are deeply committed to research, quality improvement, education and advocacy. Our annual meetings celebrate these shared passions across disciplines with presentations of our latest work. This year, the meeting theme of “Translating Discovery” places special emphasis on the journey of ideas, spanning the arc from bench to implementation. Translation also celebrates our multi- cultural backgrounds and collaborations. And, as we return to our individual institutions after the meeting, further translation occurs. We share new ideas and knowledge with collaborators and decision makers in each of our home venues. This is the ripple effect of the meeting. In addition to the scientific content of the meeting there will be socializing! The Welcome Reception will be on site at the Quebec City Convention Center, seated conveniently between the two conference hotels. The Networking Gala is always a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends and new over dinner and on the dance floor. This year's Gala will be held at the Voltigeurs de Québec Armoury, a National Historic site and Gothic Revival drill hall built at the end of the 19th century. The soaring ceilings and extraordinary brickwork will entice all to mingle and have a great evening. This year we received a record number of abstract submissions! We are pleased to extend a rich assortment of offerings: 8 Pre-Conference Courses, 39 Morning Seminars, 39 Mini-Symposia, 4 Plenary Sessions, and 12 Free Paper sessions encompassing 126 podium presentations. We have two ample poster sessions planned, with 161 scientific posters, 45 demonstration posters and 17 clinical observation/single case study posters. Huge thanks go to Drs. Kulkarni and Thomas for their tireless dedication as scientific co-chairs to the design of this meeting. More heartfelt thanks go to the AACPDM staff, whose steady support truly makes this meeting possible. It takes a village to ensure best outcomes for children with disabilities, and to advance the field. We are very pleased to publish this collection of the AACPDM 78th Annual Meeting abstracts. It reflects the deep work of that remarkable village: the multi-disciplinary community of researchers in the field of cerebral palsy and childhood onset disability.
