The purpose of the study is to present the magazine "Novi Dni" (Toronto) as a universal type of publication, in which significant attention was paid to literary and artistic phenomena and cultural and historical issues, based on the work of Ivan Bahrianyi and materials devoted to the literary and critical analysis of his writing. The publication methodology is based on the potential of the cultural-historical method and content analysis. A comprehensive vision of the problem makes it possible to form a complete picture of the cultural and social and political life of the Ukrainian diaspora. The result of the research is proof of the importance of historical and literary material in a periodical not only for the development of artistic culture, but also for social and political consciousness. Considerable attention is paid to the literary and critical reception of Ivan Bahriany's work. Vasyl Chornohrai, in the article "Poem of all-conquering optimism" dedicated to the novel "Tiger hunters", notes the role of autobiography, the specificity of national artistic expression in content and genre form. It is also emphasized that the work is a criticism of the bilshovyk-enkavedyst system. The socio-political and cognitive role of the novel is noted. Vadym Svaroh's article "About the Dead and the Living" is dedicated to Ivan Bahryany's novel "Marusia Bohuslavka" (Munich, 1957). The review uses images from the work, in particular, the dead person as the embodiment of communist nobles and the living one - the young generation, and an allegorical image of people-snails, driven into a shell by the system. Despite such shortcomings as the large exposition part and the depiction of literary heroes with almost no growth in their consciousness, the critic believes that "Marusya Boguslavka" is a symbolic image of Ukraine. Vadym Svaroh's review of Ivan Bahriany's book "A Man Running over the Abyss" (New Ulm; New York, 1965) emphasizes that the main character Maxim is an expression of the main idea of the work, embodying the author's dreams. According to the writer's idea, his hero must live in order not to give victory to the enemy. A number of symbolic images are noted in the text. In the news reports of Petro Volyniak, a lot of attention is paid to linguistic problems and other aspects of the expression of national identity. Separate texts are sources that supplement the biography of public and political figure Ivan Bahrianyi. The conclusions emphasize the relevance and perspective of the scientific problem.
