Résumé
This May 2025 issue of Sport History Review (SHR) marks an editorial transition.A few years ago, when asked by Carly Adams to be part of the Editorial Board of the oldest academic journal in the field, it was truly an honor.My very first published work as a fledgling scholar was in this journal.I never imagined becoming its editor.I never dreamed of being a scholar either so that may explain it.1 Nevertheless, I find myself dreaming of what that labour can and will entail for me and thus this journal.I invite you to dream with me.As I take over for Carly Adams, who has been at the helm of SHR since 2014, I must express my deep gratitude to her.I cannot speak enough of Carly's virtues as a colleague, so I will be brief.I worked with her as part of the SHR Editorial Board and through the North American Society of Sport History, but I first encountered her when she invited me to contribute to her 2021 edited volume, Sport and Recreation in Canadian History, when I was still a Ph.D. candidate.She has been a significant figure in my career over the course of the last few years but, most of all, she has done exceptional work during her eight years as editor, a position she undertook with a vision to push us-scholars and researchers-to imagine more for our field and ourselves as its agents.Even more, Carly steered the journal during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.I remain very grateful for her invitation, her guidance during the transition, for her generosity and patience, and especially for her staying on as Consulting Editor.I am looking forward to seeing what she does next and wish her the best.In the spirit of being real, I will note that absolutely no one teaches you how to be an editor in school.I would therefore be remiss if I did not acknowledge the team that makes the SHR machine run and those I especially leaned on for this issue.The Human Kinetics staff, particularly Tammy Miller and Christina Johnson, has been key in this transition and ensure that the journal stays on its feet: Tammy and Christina, your patience through various emails is much appreciated.
