Porphyrochroa quadrilamelaris Mendonça, Rafael & Ale-Rocha, 2008, sp. nov.

Porphyrochroa quadrilamelaris sp. nov. (Figs. 14a–m; 19d; 20) Diagnosis: P. quadrilamelaris sp. nov. Is closely related to P. vidali Mendonça, Rafael & Ale-Rocha, 2007 due to the presence of long posterodorsal setae on the mid tibia and by the color of the brown wing. It differs due to the absence of curvature in the costal vein and by the obelisk format of the epandrium. Description. Male: body length 2.6 mm; wing length 2.1–2.2 mm. Holotype with lost head; male paratypes not available. Thorax shiny brown, with conspicuous postsutural gray pruinescence. Thoracic setae: 3 slender ktg; 4 sctl, larger internal pair; aprn and prepm broken; 1 pprn; acr broken or absent; 4 dc; spal presut broken; 1 spal psut; 1 ntpl; 2 pal. Fore, mid and hind legs with coxae, trochanters and basal fifth of femora yellow, remaining brown; hind femur with long anteroventral setae; hind tibia with four long dorsal setae; mid tibia with five setae: two anterodorsal, one posterodorsal, one dorsal and one posteroventral. All legs with long separated setae and short distinct setae. Wing brown, more dark in superior region, with inconspicuous pterostigma; FIGURE 14. Halter with pedicel yellow and knob brown. Abdomen shiny brown, with metallic blue luster in diverse light incidence angles. Sternites brown. Tergite 7 with pair of posteroventral protuberances (Fig. 14a) and posterior projection in lateral view (Fig. 14c); tergite 8 with anterior lateral projection (Fig. 14a); sternite 7 wide in anterior and posterior regions, with abrupt narrowing in central region, in dorsal view (Fig. 14b) and inclined in lateral view (Fig. 14c). Terminalia: hypandrium with simple apex (Fig. 14d), without setae and obelisk in dorsal view (Fig. 14g); epandrium with superior digitiform projection with setae and point of weakness anteriorly (Fig. 14e). Ejaculatory apodeme with four projections in ventral view (Fig. 14f). Elongate cercus in lateral view (Fig. 14d); with internal ventral downward projection in dorsal view (Fig. 14h); subepandrial sclerite with long projection anterior and posterior beyond arms (Fig. 14i). Female. Head: frons and face shiny brown; frons wide, approximately width of anterior ocellus with six proclinate setae. Face longer than frons and about twice width of frons. Proboscis light-yellow, length equal to height of head. Palpus brown, with one small almost apical seta. Ocellar tubercule with vitreous light-yellow ocellus; two proclinate and long ocellar setae; two postocellar setae. Antenna with scape, pedicel and flagellum brown; scape and pedicel medially verticillate; flagellum about four times longer than scape and pedicel combined. Postcranium shiny brown, with distinct brown setae and gray pruinescence; one pair of parallel vertical setae; postocellar setae distinct, arranged in complete single series. Gena and postgena with setae brown to black. Thorax: similar to male in all respects. Abdômen: tergite 7 longer than wide (Fig. 14j); tergite 8 smaller than former ones (Fig. 14j); cercus elongate (Fig. 14j; k; m); sternites as in Figure 14k. Genital fork as in Figure 14l. Distribution: BRAZIL (Amazonas). Type material: Holotype male: BRAZIL, Amazonas, São Gabriel, Maturacá (White label, rectangular, printed) / Ig[arapé], Malaise, 4.iv.1995, Fernanda / Holotype macho Porphyrochroa quadrilamelaris (INPA). Paratypes: BRAZIL, Amazonas, São Gabriel, Maturacá, Ig., Malaise, 4.iv.1995, Fernanda (1 uncertain sex, INPA), (1 female, INPA). Holotype condition: aprn setae, prepm, acr and spal presut broken; head and left foreleg lost. Left wing mounted on microslide in Canada balsam; abdomen within microvial containing glycerin. Microslide and microvial pinned attached to the specimen. Etymology: from Latin, quattuor = four. It makes allusion to the four projections of ejaculatory apodeme.
