Nel 1965 fondò l'Harvard Laboratory for Computer Graphics. Le app forniscono esperienze utente mirate per portare a termine e dare vita al gis per tutto. inglese History you taught us that knowledge of the territory is an important thing, in the book of the sun tuz which talks dera art of War he considered knowledge of the territory one of the most important things to win the war. During the years are seen great conquerors who only for the fact that they didn't know the territory lost the battalion, one example of them was also napoleon bonaparti where during his life he did 60 battalions in here 12 of them lost only because he didn't know the territory well in fati we can divide him in two big campaigns that in Spain and Russia. Today day the most important softwer of land analysis is GIS. In the last fifty years, GIS has evolved from a concept to a science. The phenomenal evolution of GIS from a rudimentary tool to a modern and powerful platform for understanding and planning our world is marked by several milestones. The field of geographic information systems (GIS) began in the 1960s when computers emerged and the first concepts of quantitative and computational geography emerged. Roger Tomlinson's pioneering work to initiate, plan and develop the Canada Geographic Information System led to the world's first computerized GIS in 1963. The Canadian government had tasked Tomlinson with creating a manageable inventory of its natural resources. He envisioned using computers to merge natural resource data from all provinces. Tomlinson created the automated processing project to store and process large amounts of data, which enabled Canada to start its national land use management program. He also gave GIS its name. In 1965 he founded the Harvard Laboratory for Computer Graphics. While some of the first computer map-making software was created and refined at the Lab, it also became a research center for spatial analysis and visualization. In 1969, Jack Dangermond, a Harvard Lab member, and his wife Laura founded the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (Esri). The consulting firm applied computer mapping and spatial analysis to help land use planners and land resource managers make informed decisions. As information technology became more powerful, Esri improved its software tools. Working on projects that solved real-world problems led the company to innovate and develop robust GIS tools and approaches that could be widely used. Esri's work gained recognition from the academic community as a new way of doing spatial analysis and planning. GIS is nothing more than a system that creates manages analyzes and maps all kinds of data, GIS colegates data to a map by intergrating location data. This provides a basis for mapping and analysis used in science and almost every setori. GIS helps users understand model relationships in geographic context. Benefits include improved communication and efficiency as well as better management and decision making.Hundreds of thousands of organizations in virtually every field use gis to create maps that communicate, perform analysis, share information and solve complex problems worldwide.GIS is used as: Identifying problems,Monitoring change,Managing and responding to events,Making forecasts,Setting priorities,Understanding trends. GIS technology applies geographic science with tools for understanding and collaboration. It helps people achieve a common goal: to get fruible information from all kinds of data. Maps Maps are the geographic container for the data layers and analyses you want to work with. GIS maps are easily shared and incorporated into apps and are accessible to virtually anyone, anywhere. Data GIS integrates many different types of data layers using spatial location. Most data has a geographic component. GIS data include images, features, and base maps linked to spreadsheets and tables. Analysis Spatial analysis allows you to assess suitability and capacity, estimate and predict, interpret and understand, and much more, bringing new perspectives to your vision and decision making.Apps provide targeted user experiences to bring gis to life for everything.
