El-Aksa intifadası’nın Türk basınına yansımasının karşılaştırmalı incelemesi

Résumé
Bu çalışma ile El-Aksa İntifadası sürecinde, Türk Basınının İntifada'ya karşı tutumlarının, ayrıca basının İsrail ve Filistin yaklaşımlarının ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin Ortadoğu politikasının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Türk Basınındaki El-Aksa İntifadasına karşı yaklaşımların farklı olabileceği varsayımından yola çıkılarak yapılan bu araştırmada üç farklı gazetenin ( Cumhuriyet, Hürriyet, Yeni Şafak ), iki yıllık (28.9.2000 - 28.9.2002) yayınları araştırma evrenine dahil edilmiştir. Gazetelerden alınan haber ve köşe yazısı örneklemleri nitel ve nicel olarak analiz edilip karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir.\nAraştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda ikinci bölümde Ortadoğu'nun coğrafyası tanımlanıp önemi belirtilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Filistin Coğrafyası ve günümüze kadarki tarihi açıklanmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde ise Filistin'de 1987 tarihinde başlayan İntifada süreci anlatılıp, 2000 yılına kadar ki İsrail - Filistin ilişkilerini nasıl etkilediği incelenmiş ve 2000 eylülünde başlayan El-Aksa İntifadası ayrıntılı bir şekilde aktarılmıştır. Beşinci bölümde ise tezin temel sorunsalı olan El-Aksa İntifada'sının Türk Basınına yansıması karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir.\nÖrnekleme alınan haberler ve köşe yazıları üzerinde yapılan nitel ve nicel analizler; gazetelerin, İsrail - Filistin çatışmalarını okuyucularına duyururken büyük oranda Filistin yanlı bir politika takip ettiklerini göstermiştir. Türk Basınının El-Aksa İntifadası sürecinde büyük oranda Filistin'i desteklerken, İsrail'i intihar saldırılarına karşı tutumları haricinde desteklemediği tespit edilmiştir. Gazetelerden Hürriyet Gazetesinin, İsrail ile ilgili haberlerinde tarafsıza yakın bir politika takip ettiği görülürken; Cumhuriyet ve Yeni Şafak Gazetelerinin İsrail'i desteklemediği görülmüştür. Araştırma sonrasında Yeni Şafak Gazetesinin, iki yıl içerisindeki yayınlarında hem haber hem de köşe yazısı olarak El-Aksa İntifadasına diğer iki gazeten daha fazla ilgi duyduğu görülmüştür. Hürriyet'in ise konuya en az ilgi duyan gazete olduğu tespit edilmiştir. \n\n\n\nThe aim of this study is to expose Turkish media's attitude in regards to the course of events during Al-Aksa Intifadah. This study, will furthermore, portray Turkish press' approach towards Palestine and Israel, as well as Republic of Turkey's Middle Eastern policy. Given that the approaches of the press might have portrayed differences, three different newspapers (Hurriyet, Cumhuriyet, and Yeni Safak) that have published in between 28.9.2000 - 28.9.2002 have been added to the scope of this research project. News and columns taken from the mentioned newspapers, have been analysed both qualitatively and quantitatively, thus, scrutinized comparatively.\nIn light of this research project's objective, the second section has been devoted to the identification of the geo-strategic significance of the Middle East. The third section has been used to focus on the geographical dynamics of Palestine and its history until now. The forth section has been devoted to the elaboration of the process of Intifadah at Palestine that started in the year of 1987. Furthermore, the same section has also been used to analyze the reflection of the 1987 Intifadah on the Palestine-Israel relations hitherto the year of 2000. The forth section of the study has also been used to elucidate-in detail-the Intifadah that started in September 2000. As a part of this thesis' core objective, the final section of the study has analyzed-in a comparative manner-the reflections of Al-Aksa Intifadah on the Turkish press.\nThe qualitative and quantitative analyses based on the exemplification, the news, and the columns used for this survey, have alluded that the newspapers portrayed objective views, when conveying the conflicts between Palestine and Israel. It has been expedited that the Turkish press while generally being in supportive of Palestine, has not been in support of Israel other than, Israel's reactions to suicide bombings. Within the comparative analysis of newspapers, it has been noted that while Hurriyet has nearly portrayed a neutral perspective towards Israel in its news, Cumhuriyet and Yeni Safak have not been supportive of Israel. In light of the research project, it has been observed that Yeni Safak has had more headlines and columns devoted to the Al-Aksa Intifadah than the two other newspapers. It has been further observed that Hurriyet came to stand as the least interested newspaper to the subject.
