In the context of the large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, the understanding and awareness of military history by military specialists, the ability to use it creatively in combat training and solving combat tasks have become particularly relevant. In this context, the experience of training and employment of troops (forces) in interspecies (interagency, coalition) operations (actions), including evacuation of troops (forces) by sea, is of great importance. At the same time, in order to professionally solve the tasks, especially in difficult combat conditions, military specialists face an urgent need to predict possible developments in the future, which requires them to have a clear understanding of the trends and patterns of development of the art of war. An analysis of the main studies and publications of domestic and foreign researchers on the history of military art in military conflicts of the twentieth and first quarter of the twenty-first century shows that they mainly focus on identifying the main trends in the development of military art of our time, highlighting the most important socio- economic, political, spiritual and other components of the preparation and conduct of interspecies (interagency, coalition) operations (actions). At the same time, the study of trends and patterns in the development of military art related to the evacuation of troops (forces) by sea has been ignored by researchers and has not been the subject of a holistic, thorough and objective military history study. As a result, the study of this issue is of both practical and scientific and theoretical importance. In the article, based on the analysis of the evacuation of troops (forces) by sea in military conflicts of the twentieth — first quarter of the twenty-first century, the author identifies and substantiates the most significant trends and patterns of development of the military art of training and employment of troops (forces) in such operations (actions) which can form the basis for the vision of further prospects for its development. Also, taking into account the experience of preparation, progress and results of the evacuation of troops (forces) by sea during the specified period, the main directions of development of military art in these matters are determined.
