Simulation between fixed photovoltaic systems and two-axis trackers considering three different panel technologies
Notice bibliographique
Résumé
With the constant increase in the use of photovoltaic generation, researchers and manufacturers are trying to develop increasingly efficient panels to make better use of the sun's energy, which can also be done with the use of solar tracking systems. In this work, a comparison of energy generation between three photovoltaic modules of different technologies is carried out, considering fixed installation and the use of three different two-axis solar tracking systems. To size the systems, an area available for installation of around 100 m² was defined in the city of Medianeira - PR, and the simulations were carried out using the PVsyst software. A photovoltaic panel model was selected with m-si half-cut technology from the manufacturer Amerisolar (used as a reference), a model with CIGS technology from the manufacturer Eterbright, and a model with HIT technology from the manufacturer Canadian Solar. The three solar trackers considered operate with different maximum rotation angles for each of their two axes. It should be noted that the simulations and all calculations were carried out taking into account only the photovoltaic modules and solar tracking systems, without considering the inverter purchase and losses. The Canadian module (CS6R-420H-AG) is the most efficient, has the highest generation, and is also the most expensive. If combined with a two-axis solar tracker, energy generation is even greater. Therefore, if it is found for purchase in Brazil it is the best option. If it is not possible to find this panel model, the arrangement with the Amerisolar module (AS-385) combined with one of the two best solar tracker options is capable of generating more energy than the arrangement with the Canadian panel (more efficient) with fixed installation.
