Résumé
Population aging is becoming an increasingly serious problem in most parts of the world. Quarantine measures during the pandemic have had a negative impact on the lives of single elderly people, as they have reduced access to doctors, restricted contact with relatives or others, reduced access to normal food, and worsened their general well-being and mood. The subject of the work is the problems that have arisen during the pandemic in the provision of services to the elderly in the Order of Malta Relief Organization. The aim of the study was to investigate the problems that arise during a pandemic in the provision of services to the elderly in the Order of Malta Relief Organization. To achieve this goal, two tasks have been set. First, to review the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the elderly and the services provided by the Order of Malta Relief Organization and secondly to examine the problems that arise during the pandemic in the provision of services to the elderly by the Order of Malta Relief Organization. Working methods: analysis of scientific literature, questionnaire survey, data collection and analysis Conclusions. The results of the survey revealed that almost all respondents feel deteriorating health, almost a quarter of them feel lonely and forgotten, feel fear and anxiety, and a third part have already sought help from a specialist. One-fifth of respondents started using the services of the Order of Malta Relief Organization during the pandemic, reflecting the growing need for these services under quarantine restrictions. Most respondents have been using the services of the Order of Malta Relief Organization for 3-4 years, and these services are even more needed during a pandemic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the help of the Order of Malta Relief Organization is needed because respondents have serious health problems and are unable to take care of themselves. Secondly, because their relatives live far away or in another municipality, and because of the quarantine restriction they cannot visit them. The majority of respondents are pleased that volunteers from the Order of Malta Relief Organization visit their homes, but during the pandemic Young Maltesers visit less frequently, and there is a lack of communication with volunteers as their visits have been shortened. Structure of the work: the work consists of two parts. The first part analyses the theoretical analysis of the services provided to the elderly by the Order of Malta Relief Organization. The second part analyses the information obtained during the questionnaire survey. The conclusions summarize the results of the work and provide recommendations.
