DUES INCREASE PROPOSED FOR 2003 : Members benefit from a decade of stable membership dues

Abstract
At the July 2002 Annual General Meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the CVMA will recommend to its members a dues increase, effective January 2003. For the past 10 years, the CVMA has been successful in maintaining its annual dues at $175.00. The proposed increase would raise the annual membership dues to $225.00, which represents an annual percentage of less than 3% over a 10-year period. “Through sound financial management, the CVMA has generated significant non-dues revenue, which has allowed it to build a reserve and dramatically increase its priority activities,” says Dr. Conrad L'Ecuyer, CVMA Treasurer. Over the years, our Association has represented and defended the interests of the veterinary profession, and has lobbied government authorities on key national issues. “The CVMA must continue to be responsive to the members' needs. Without this dues increase, the CVMA cannot maintain this commitment and the entire profession will lose as a result,” states Dr. Michael Baar, CVMA President.
