L'étude que nous présentons porte sur le vocabulaire utilisé de 1929 à 1934 dans le livre de comptes d'un marchand général de Girardville au Lac-Saint-Jean. Dans un premier temps, nous décrivons les us et coutumes des gens de cette époque qui fut particulièrement difficile en milieu rural au Québec en raison de la grande crise économique de 1930. Par la suite, nous nous intéressons à la part occupée par les québécismes dans le corpus. Pour ce faire, nous procédons tout d'abord à un classement onomasiologique de toutes les unités lexicales à partir duquel nous effectuons un classement différentiel afin d'en dégager les québécismes. L'analyse de ces données est présentée dans six chapitres qui correspondent à un thème lexical particulier dans lequel nous présentons la fréquence d'usage et nous analysons la provenance historique de chaque québécisme. L'aspect synonymique est également abordé. Ces résultats sont présentés sous forme de tableaux que nous commentons de manière générale.
