Abstract
In dieser Arbeit werden die Lebenssituation und die gesundheitlichen Bedingungen drogenabhängiger Gefangener im System Strafvollzug analysiert. Dabei wird ein doppeltes Ziel verfolgt: Einerseits wird die Bedeutung des Drogenkonsums mit seinen Folgeproblemen wie etwa der Verbreitung von existentiell bedrohlichen Infektionskrankheiten (wie HIV/AIDS oder Hepatitis) für das System Strafvollzug näher untersucht. Andererseits werden die Auswirkungen der Haftbedingungen auf die Lebensbedingungen der DrogenkonsumentInnen im Vollzug geprüft. Auf einer konzeptuellen Ebene wird das Ergebnis dieser Analyse mit den Strategien des Konzeptes 'Gesundheitsförderung' konfrontiert: Wie lassen sich die gesundheitliche Versorgung der Gefangenen, die gesundheitsrelevanten Arbeitsbedingungen für die Anstaltsbediensteten, wie läßt sich das gesamte System Gefängnis so umbauen, daß alle dort lebenden und arbeitenden Menschen gesund bleiben, bzw. gesund werden können? 'Healthy Prisons' beinhaltet die Übertragung der Gesundheitsförderungsperspektive, wie sie programmatisch mit der Ottawa-Charta eingeleitet und in mehreren Gesellschaftsbereichen bereits umgesetzt wurde (Städte, Schulen, Krankenhäuser), auf das setting 'Gefängnis' zu übertragen.
