Abstract
En el presente trabajo se presenta brevemente el derecho de aguas de Canadá comenzando con la distribución de competencias entre el Estado federal y las provincias. También se desarrolla el régimen dominial del agua en Quebec, su evolución en el Código Civil y el fundamental cambio producido por la ley del agua de 2009. Se explica brevemente con cita a los más importantes tratadistas canadienses los conceptos fundamentales de la misma como la declaración de patrimonio común de la nación quebequense y el sistema de gestión concertado y participativo que organiza. El trabajo fi naliza con una consideración del agua como mercancía u objeto de comercio internacional, cuestión fuertemente debatida y que estuvo en el centro de discusiones al tratarse la ley y también está considerada en su articulado.
