Cette etude du professeur James A. Coriden souligne que la paroisse a une priorite dans la vie de l'Eglise. Celle-ci beneficie de plusieurs droits et obligations canoniques des paroisses. L'A. presente quelques reconfigurations diverses du ministere dans les communautes locales des fideles. Enfin, il aborde differentes questions particulieres liees aux paroisses.
