Abstract

The present study is realized in the mainstream of cultural geography and visual researches. Basing on the analyses of the mass graphic production of the XVIII the first quarter of the XIX century (travelers' pictures, engravings, litographies, landscapes on the table-services and fabrics), the author considers the visualization of the Russian Empire through the artistic images of Russian cities. In the article also both the changing in the principles of the sight of the space and the concepts of the past and future, power and nation, inserted into the landscape, were revealed.
