Le prix des paniers est-il un frein à l’ouverture sociale des AMAP ? Une analyse des prix dans sept AMAP de la Région Rhône-Alpes

Abstract
Au sein des diverses modalités de circuits courts, les Associations pour le maintien de l’agriculture paysanne (AMAP) occupent une place spécifique du fait de leurs principes de fonctionnement basés sur l’engagement réciproque entre un groupe de consommateurs et un agriculteur. Leur développement a connu un essor spectaculaire dans plusieurs régions françaises suscitant différentes interrogations. Parmi les questions en suspens figure le prix payé par les amapiens pour leurs paniers et les services qui leur sont associés. L’article montre que les prix relevés dans les AMAP étudiées sont peu élevés. Le prix des paniers proposés n’apparaît donc pas comme un frein à leur développement auprès de populations disposant de faibles revenus. Au contraire, en favorisant l’approvisionnement en produits frais, mais à cuisiner, ces systèmes peuvent contribuer à faire baisser le budget consacré à l’alimentation en comparaison de l’achat de produits préparés.
