Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We report the measurements of the $t\overline{t}$ production cross section and of the top quark mass using $1.02\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $p\overline{p}$ data collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. We select events with six or more jets on which a number of kinematical requirements are imposed by means of a neural network algorithm. At least one of these jets must be identified as initiated by a $b$-quark candidate by the reconstruction of a secondary vertex. The cross section is measured to be ${\ensuremath{\sigma}}_{t\overline{t}}=8.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.0(\mathrm{stat}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}1.5}^{+2.0}(\mathrm{syst})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.5(\mathrm{lumi})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{pb}$, which is consistent with the standard model prediction. The top quark mass of $174.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.2(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}4.8(\mathrm{syst})\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}/{c}^{2}$ is derived from a likelihood fit incorporating reconstructed mass distributions representative of signal and background.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
