Abstract
Une etude retrospective est realisee a la faculte de medecine veterinaire de l'universite de Montreal (Canada) pour evaluer les enseignements du tableau clinique, des examens complementaires et des rapports d'autopsie lors de thrombose de la veine cave caudale (TVCC) chez des vaches adultes. Dix dossiers sont retenus grâce a un diagnostic confirme par echographie du vivant de l'animal ou par necropsie, avec un examen physique complet a l'arrivee. L'anorexie, l'hyperthermie et les troubles respiratoires dominent le tableau clinique, autant de signes non specifiques. Les examens hematologiques et biochimiques sont peu revelateurs. L'interet d'examiner le foie grâce a l'echographie ressort de cet essai. Le traitement, incluant une antibiotherapie prolongee, permet un seul retour en production a moyen terme sur les dix cas referes.
