Abstract
Cet article analyse la collaboration de deux artistes, l'un russe, Iouri Lioubimov, l'autre italien, Luigi Nono, dans la création et la représentation scénique de Al gran sole carico d'amore à Milan, entre 1973 et 1975. En confrontant le contexte de création du spectacle et sa thématique, l'auteur analyse les raisons pour lesquelles cette œuvre a représenté un tournant dans la carrière artistique de Lioubimov et Nono. Elle montre ainsi que les deux artistes, face au scandale suscité par la représentation considérée comme une opération de propagande communiste et en proie à un conflit intérieur au moment où le drame des goulags staliniens était révélé, deviennent les vrais héros tragiques de leur œuvre. Béatrice Picon-Vallin examine ensuite les conséquences qu'a eu cette expérience sur la carrière de chacun des artistes.
