This chapter focuses on Cochliobolus sativus , the causal agent of common root rot in cereals, primarily spring and winter wheat ( Triticum aestivum ), barley ( Hordeum vulgare ), and tall or meadow fescue grass ( Festuca elatior ) in Canada. It provides an overview of the bacteria ( Burkholderia cepacia and Pseudomonas fluorescens ) and fungi ( Glomus intraradices and Glomus mosseae ) that have been tested for its management, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these biological control agents. Future research prospects are recommended.
