Abstract
班夫国家公园(Banff National park)位于加拿大阿尔佰达省(Alberta)的西南角,建于1885年,是加拿大第一个国家公园。1984年,它和邻近的杰士伯国家公园(Jasper National park)、约霍国家公园(Yoho National park)、库特内国家公园(Kootenay National park),以落基山脉诸公园(Rocky Mountain Parks)的名称,被联合国世界遗产委员会列入世界自然遗产名录。2亿年前,北美大陆板块开始向西移动,1亿2千万年前,加拿大落基山脉从海底攀爬起来,成就了今天的模样。要知道,它比喜马拉雅山脉要年长6千多万岁啊!
