L'objectif de cette thèse était d'améliorer les performances des prévisions d'ensemble hydrologiques du modèle SAFRAN-ISBA-MODCOU (SIM) de Météo-France. D'abord, la Prévision d'Ensemble ARPEGE (PEARP) a été utilisée (en remplacement de l'EPS à 10 jours du CEPMMT). Une étude statistique comparative à courte échéance des deux forçages météorologiques désagrégés et prévisions de débits a été réalisée. Ensuite, les états initiaux des prévisions d'ensemble de débits ont été améliorés par une assimilation des débits dans SIM-analyse (qui initialise le système ensembliste). Le but est d'améliorer les simulations de débits en modifiant l'humidité du sol avec la méthode du Best Linear Unbiased Estimator (BLUE). Plusieurs configurations ont été testées et ont montré une nette amélioration des simulations de débits. Enfin, on a quantifié l'impact de cette assimilation de débits sur les deux systèmes de prévisions d'ensemble des débits. L'amélioration est significative, même à moyenne échéance
