Abstract
Campos de Castilla es, junto a otras muchas interpretaciones dadas por la cr?tica, un libro de paisajes. Ese conjunto de visiones castellanas forma una serie o suite. El protagonismo que Machado concede a las descripciones en esta obra coincide con el reconocimiento del paisaje como g?nero art?stico y con los intereses de las nuevas tendencias pict?ricas del momento, el paisajismo y el impresionismo que llegan tard?amente a Espa?a. Desde una aproximaci?n neohistoricista los poemas descriptivos machadianos recogen y reflejan algunos de los rasgos pict?ricos de estas escuelas. Adem?s, la llegada del impresionismo caus? un agitado debate social. Machado, al incorporar pr?stamos impresionistas, da su apoyo desde el texto a un controvertido discurso del contexto social.
