Abstract
L'analyse de l'idéologie présente un curieux paradoxe: une science de l'idéologie n'a-t-elle pas elle-même un caractère idéologique? Le dilemme nous renvoie au problème épistémologique fondamental de la sémiologie: herméneutique ou formalisme? Après un examen des tentatives d'utilisation de la linguistique pour résoudre les problèmes de l'analyse idéologique, l'auteur essaie de montrer qu'une approche rigoureuse de ces phénomènes suppose que l'exégèse historique ou sociologique repose sur des inventaires descriptifs aussi exhaustifs que possible.
