Abstract
France is not a bijural country. She has no experience in bijuralism. Yet no French jurist can remain indifferent to the debate on its merits. I think that Louisiana and Quebec are in a way very fortunate to be bijural jurisdictions. They both have at the same time the obligation and the ability to instruct students in the two main legal traditions existing in the world today: the civil law and the common law.
