Abstract
La sous-traitance industrielle, et en particulier le recours à des entreprises extérieures intervenant en sous-traitance interne pour les opérations de maintenance dans les industries mettant en œuvre des procédés complexes (chimie, raffinage pétrolier, sidérurgie, etc.), a connu un développement considérable en France au cours des trente dernières années. Quelques études consacrées au sujet montrent que les travailleurs des entreprises extérieures sont plus souvent victimes d’accidents du travail que leurs collègues des entreprises utilisatrices sans qu’une comparaison rigoureuse soit possible puisque les tâches effectuées sont différentes. De même, dans plusieurs activités (maçons-fumistes, opérations de maintenance dans l’industrie chimique), des dépassements des valeurs limites d’exposition ont été mis en évidence. L’auteur suggère qu’à l’instar de l’industrie nucléaire, des études associant des chercheurs de différentes spécialités soient initiées afin de mieux comprendre les phénomènes (relations entre donneur d’ordres et entreprises extérieures, formes particulières d’organisation du travail, etc.) qui conduisent à ce surcroît d’accidents ou à ces expositions élevées.
