Abstract
La crise financière mondiale de 2008 a été étudiée par des économistes, des politologues et des sociologues qui ont souligné ses conséquences sur divers acteurs. Mais elle est peu analysée du point de vue de ses enjeux pour la citoyenneté sociale. Notre article analyse la transformation du rapport politique à la monnaie pour éclairer les enjeux de la crise financière pour les droits sociaux, en accordant une attention particulière à la transition qui s’est opérée entre un traitement initial keynésien et une approche fondée sur des politiques d’austérité. Son approche vise à cerner une dynamique globale à partir des apports du courant hétérodoxe de l’économie politique internationale (EPI). De ce point de vue, les politiques d’austérité n’apparaissent pas comme des mesures exceptionnelles vouées à disparaître après la crise, mais comme des mesures convergentes avec un discours politique de promotion d’un modèle néolibéral de citoyenneté sociale mieux adapté à la financiarisation de l’économie.
